Got my C2D E6300 clocked at 3Ghz currently on a Gigabyte DS3 (F4 bios) and an Artic Freezer 7 Pro (excellent bit of kit)
Now im getting conflicting temperature readings on full load running orthos
Easy Tune5 shows 42 deg celcius
Intel TAT shows 55 deg celcius
and for the life of me i cannot find it in Everest lol

After 5 minutes of idling
AT5 shows 29deg C
Intel TAT shows 42-44 deg C
and on reboot my bios shows 30 deg C

I do have a 120mm fan literally an inch away from the AF7 Pro sucking air straight out away from the HSF.

Now i've allways thought that the BIOS was the best place to see temps, but can it really be right and Intel TAT be SO wrong.??

Does anyone know of any other programs i can try to get more comparisons please.?

your bios and easytune read from a sensor outside the core of the cpu whereas TAT and coretemp read from the cpu core itself therefore they are more accurate.
The core temps will be higher tho but your temps look fine!

hope this helps :)

Dropped Vcore voltage

Excellent thanks.

Think i may try dropping voltage a bit see what i can get this chip running at.
Stock DS3 volts on core was 1.3265 volts, just dropped it 2 notches down to 1.3v and running orthos now.
Will reports back shortly.
