been stuck at 2.8 ghz for a while now, but i managed to get it to 2.92 ish today. thing is i had to give it 1.41 vcore in bios about 1.38 in cpuz and then it hit a wall and wouldnt go any more

temps were up to 57 c load on core temp whilst running orthos which is high but im not too worried about

what is the max safe voltage i can shove though it?

thanx

stinka

Temps are more of an issue than volts really (upto a point)

I'd go to 1.5v on air and 1.6v on water, try and keeps temps under 60c full load.

Is that 1.41 as shown in CPU-z or 1.41 as set in bios. CPU-z doesn't seem to read voltage correctly on the core2's, so you need to check what's actually set. Best bet (although it's still not very accurate...) is to check in the hardware monitoring section of the bios.

ok ive got it to 3010 mhz stable :D:D:cool:

yeh man im well chuffed after being stuck at 2.8ghz for weeks

im giving it 1.45 vcore in bios, temps in orthos between 60-63 using core temp but im happy with that

using cpu-z to see if its throttling whilst running orthos and its not so its all good

IIRC someone said the other day that they wern't to worried about temps within reason because c2d will automaticaly throttle to prevent damage, what are your thoughts on this statement.

as this is only a £100 chip im not to worried where as if it were a £700 quad id be a little more concerned

stinka

edit: im chuffed to bits got her at 3.15ghz (450x7) dropped cpu vcore to 1.425 in bios and its ticking over at 59-62 c on orthos that will do me:D what a chip! for a ton ya cant go wrong :D !!!
