As title, I am looking to upgrade my P4 system and I have two ideas:

1 - Go for a E6320 (which mobo?)
2 - X2 5200+ (w/2MB cache) and compatible mobo that will take a quad core (which mobo?)

I am looking to order today, I have an E6320 and DS3 in my basket and also looking at an X2 5200+ and K9N Neo-F? I am not particularly worried about extreme overclocking, anything that can be done easily/at stock is fine :)

I think if you were to buy a quad-core AMD compatible motherboard, you'd still kick yourself as you'd be lacking DDR3 and all-sorts of advancements. I'd pick up whichever is cheapest if its only a stop gap. Either will outperform your P4 quite nicely.
That's true, I didn't think of the ddr3 thing :D I have just ordered an X2 5200+ and K9N Neo-F motherboard, oh and a 7600GT to throw in as well :) It should last me a year or so till I get the upgrade bug again!

Roll on tomorrow for delivery, and as I'm off work at the mo it's time to play straight away!
