Hi guys

Can I just ask if this setup is ok for big overclocks? or should I change the Memory? or the Mobo to.

E6400
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650
OcUK 1GB (2x512MB) PC2-6400
HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ 3 TURBO SILENT

Thought I may get away with the cheaper memory due to the higher Multi.

thanks neil

Well....I been using task manager to monitor the amount of memory iv been using and to be honest the highest it ever goes is 800mb...so is it worth getting 2 gigs at the moment?

Don't want to sound stubborn! but why/how will it be better to have 2 gig if I don't even use what I have. Could someone explain please :)

Ok then :)

so apart from the extra ram...the ocuk stuff will be sufficient for a big OC I presume then

Yup, PC6400 will get you a nice clock. You might want to try the E4300, thats even easier to clock because of its higher multiplier. Its cheaper too.

You might want to invest in a decent aftermarket cooler aswell.

yeah been looking at that....but your looking at about 3.4ghz with loads of volts where the E6400 will get there easier wont it and maybe higher?

also will a good 500w psu be ok with that

Yup 500Ws should be fine, I payed the extra for the 6400 as I want to push that little bit faster if possible too.

sorry lol just one more thing

For the same price should I get the DS3 instead??? I know its a proven board and everything but is the asus just as good.

I went for the Asus, looks to be a better clocker :)
