ok.. so the story so far... ive never overclocked in my life, and i dont really know what any of the terms used in OC'ing mean.

but.. i was having a fiddle just now and decided to use the ASUS ai booster to set it to 20% overclock...

i just want to check that it all looks ok guys, and if i will see an improvement over stock running it at this...

dont use ai booster. go into your bios and overclock. although it may be stable (depending on whether yiou have tested it or not) it wont be as controlled as an equivalent in the bios. If you are confused look here

ok... so which is best 3d mark to use??

i downloaded 06, but i see a few people say its useless and 05 is better

ATi fans say that 3dmark06 is too biased towards nvidia.....

3dmark05 is fairer....

Im an nvidia fan though so rock on 3dmark06

just ran 3d mark 05, and got 10044 at basically stock...

is that good?

Nvidia 7900gto with a slight core OC

I've oc'ed my E6400 to 3.2 but seems a lil unstable at times so i clocked it back down to 3 ghz. You will prob need to raise the voltage thou like I had to. Let us know how u get on. Oh and I oc'ed on the same mobo as you, works a treat.

got CPU:2700 on 3dmark06, dont know how that compares.
