IM just wondreing if this is worth the upgrade

AMD 4200+ dual to C2D E6400

is it worth upgrading ? (i play allot of games)

thanks

oh no im just speakin in terms, i know i would have to literally upgrade everything ele, its just as in other posts..im selling graphics and mobo which should bring 240-250 so i have got spare money left around for a new computer...so my upgrade would be

AMD 4200+ dual
250gb Sata
6200 geforce turbo cche (HAHAHA)
1gb ddr400 ! ! !
Asrock motherboard...(dont know what model)

To a

Intel Core2DUO E6400 2GB+250GB+nVidia 7300 512MB Gfx

or

Athlon DUAL CORE AM2 5200+ 2GB+250GB+nVidia 7300 512MB

which one ?

and what difference would it make to my machine i have now ?

thanks

Hi
Are you planning to overclock? If so go for the Core2Duo, but you need to consider better graphics if you play lots of games as you say.
as i say my system now is

AMD 4200+ dual
250gb Sata
6200 geforce turbo cche (HAHAHA)
1gb ddr400 ! ! !
Asrock motherboard...(dont know what model)

surely any of them other 2 systems would be a decent upgrade compared to what i allreday have

Intel Core2DUO E6400 2GB+250GB+nVidia 7300 512MB Gfx

or

Athlon DUAL CORE AM2 5200+ 2GB+250GB+nVidia 7300 512MB

why do u need another hard drive lose the hard drive and get a better graphics card as the 6200 performes the same as the 7300

with the core 2 duo u will need a new mobo and with the amd as you specing a am2 core when u have a s939 core
....cant believe you dont understand what im doing..im buying a new computer....a whole new computer.. i cant chose wether to have the hardrive or not  :p

And for a measly £40 more - worth it as the x1950pro is a stonking card! ;)

If you've got the cash it may be worthwhile going for the 512mb version as a lot of the newer games will begin to use up this kind of space!

Happy shopping mate! :D

ah thanks, very very helpfull cheers

thing is to be honest i just want a graphics card that does the job basically...like mine i have in now a mega bad 6300 but it plays every game out apart form test drive unlimited....i hav to put everything on low for it to play very good but still it does the job, im one for gameplay not graphics, im sure a 512mb 7300 would be allot better than the 124mb 6300 ! wouldnt it ?

i mean dont get me wrong if i can afford good graphics then why not ;)

on ebay ive been looking at some of the systems there selling
please look at this

go onto Item number: 110111331656

to me that is a good systen and for the price is even better, there a great seller, i bought my last computer form them and as i say no troubles what so ever...

can you give your verdict on that computer please

many thanks for all your replies ;)

many thank for your advice and help ;)

*** computer i am using now. my main computer is

4200amd dual...
asrock mobo no good
1gb ddr400
250sats
450w power
6300 turbo cache....OK

rite so i go my 7950gx2...but as things go i had to upgrade my mobo aswell for it to work

so i thought rite i will go for the whole lot...

so i also bought
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe mobo
160gb western digital sata2
550 atx power supply
and a new case

i fit it al together worked fin then i started playing a game and it started overheating, i was on here posting like mad and trying to find answers but i do everything you all told me to and eventually got worse.. but thats a different story...

so after thinking i thought rite i will put THIS computer back together so my original which ive allready told you the specs.....so now i have put my graphics on ebay and mymobo on ebay so form that i should get 220-240..

i have kept my 160gb sata2 hd and my 550w atx power supply (very cheap not big make), my case, so if i was to put things together i would just end up with the same problem again..im very sure..... so in the end the conlusion was to spend the 220-240..and then save another 80-100 up....so say 330..and then go on ebay and buy a ok computer like the one i have mentioned.........

Or the other basic option was to sell my card and mobo and WAIT! just keep the 220 until the prices come down..basically
