E6420 benchmarked......soon

Hello all.

Have ordered some of my stuff from overclockers. Bit disappointed as some of the prices dropped after I ordered, but thats life

My new rig will be

E6420 2.13Ghz Core 2 Duo
2Gb Ballistix 5300 C3 3-3-3-10
BFG 8800 GTX 768mb
ThermalTake Purepower 680w
eVGA 680i Motherboard
Zalman 9700 Aero
Dell 2407wfp.


When overclocked it should give me a nice average rig. Was going to go for a Quad Core but clicked the wrong button

Will keep you posted.

Should I expect around 3.2Ghz overclock fromthe chip. Hopefully this will allow me to break 10k on 3DMark06.


The delivery is taking ages. Ordered on tuesday and was sent out today.

Quite annoying as I dont live in the UK. Their "48hr delivery" takes around 1 week from experience.

someone mentioned in another post that I could return the chip under DSR. Is this true. Do you think it is worth it?

You can yes. If you want to, just reject the delivery then you wont have to pay for return postage.

This is what I have ordered......

I only want to return one of these things. Would I have to reject the WHOLE delivery.... and then pay postage again when I get it?

No u can return any number of items under DSR

The only thing is that I ordered on tuesday and still havent got it.. Therefore its going to be monday at the VERY earliest.

That is a long wait.

Might be worth it though.


Do I have to contact overclockers before I refuse the items.

Just give the shop a call to see what they say is my advice, before you start going around trying to reject stuff!

You'd need to contact them for a returns authority anyway.

Not sure how the DSR regs impact you if you're not in the UK?

same here.

To call their line from Ireland costs quite literally a FORTUNE.


TBH I might just stick with the e6420 and sell it in a couple of months for £60 odd quid and buy a quad core when reduced
