E6420 Preowned, To lap or not to Lap

Bought a second hand E6420, plan to put it in a Silverstone SG03 with NT06 Cooler, shall I lap the CPU and Heatsink, just the cpu or none of them?..

Bottom of heatsink... mine looks even worse, some bumps on it and burn marks...

We've a E6420 here at work - coolest runing chip in the office at 40c load @2.4 with stock cooler.

As to lapping.
if it's not flat - lap it.
if it is flat (or slightly convex) don't bother

burn marks what were you cooking previouly

Thanks, that re assure's me, I plan ot use it at stock speed.. as long as it stays under 55 Load..
