That Mobo will be able to push the chip well past 3gig, My 6300 has a multi of 7 and is fine at 3.4.555BUK said:Yes it will. The P5N-E supports the new 1333fsb processors, but if you want to overclock much past 3GHz you will be better off spending a little extra and getting an E6750.

30 ish at idle and 60 max during Orthos with 1.6 V and an ambiant room temp of 23C, + or - a couple of degrees C depending on humidity and the like.Wiggins said:Whats your temps?

8800gtx and NB also on the same loop.
Ive got another Dual Rad on its way and i need to re-seat the CPU block as its slightly tighter on one side and fully lap my cpu, gonna try some Shin-Etsu MicroSi instead of AS5 and after all that i might see a little improvement in temps, maybe.Wiggins said:Nice![]()
That Mobo will run at a higher FSB than that, try it with 2x1gig sticks and see what it will push to.555BUK said:Here we go. I ordered an e6550 (elsewhere) yesterday which arrived today. Stuck it in my P5N-E and got the following results.
My system is - P5N-E, 4x1GB Crucial cheapo 667MHz ram, 380w PSU, 2x500GB HDD's, 8600GT and a few PCI cards.
CP does 3.33GHz on 1.35 volts but will not go any higher however much I increase voltage or slacken timings. I think 475FSB is the limit of my P5N-E with 4 sticks of ram in. Retail cooler used. Not bad for £100.
edited to add-
BIOS used is latest 0608 which recognises CP ok, but for some reason sets default voltage to 1.45v. I dropped this to 1.35 to follow Intel specs.
Either the mobo or CPU does not like FSB >475 (even with 2 sticks). I can get into Windows at 495 but not stable. I am happy with 3.3Ghz from a £55 mobo and £100 CPU. 3.5 to 3.6GHz would not make any noticeable difference, other than in benches which mean squat to me.pegasus1 said:That Mobo will run at a higher FSB than that, try it with 2x1gig sticks and see what it will push to.
