Hi,

got a Gigabyte P35 DS3R with a core 2 duo E6550, am having a problem where it is running under the stock speed. It should run at 2.33Ghz but is only running 2.0Ghz

Do i just need to update the BIOS, only bought it a couple weeks ago so would have thought it has the latest firmware.

Anyone got any advice for me?

it's running under stock speed because speedstep is enabled in BIOS, so the cpu multi is dropping to 6 ( from 7 ) to save power, so all you need to do is disable speedstep ( or what ever it's called on gigabyte boards ).

Thanks VoG, the feature was called C1E (Enhanced Halt State) disabling this means is running the correct speed. Obviosuly wasn't paying much atention when i looked through bios earlier.
