What are u lOOking for Nelly? :)
Well to be honest Wayne, its probally a waste of time! No matter what board I use or what processor, or expensive ram I doubt I'll get over 3.6Ghz anyway will I ?

Get a Golden chip and maybe you will hehe.
It's all luck of the draw tbh, if you're wanting an older chip then look to less popular shops as they should still have older stock remaining.

Managed to get a 28B 6300 from elsewhere recently where most places are dishing out 3xx chips :)

Shudder! I remember buying a few grands worth of Opteron 170's looking for one such 'golden chip', bah never again!

I just recieved my e6300 this week, bought a boxed retail from a popular etailor and they sent me a L625A796, dunno what that means except its a slightly older chip, looking at the Xtreme link the guy with the same CPU has hit 3.5GHz which looks promising . . .

Surely all 6600's will hit at least 3.2 regardless wont they?
H'mm well you dont see many people going past 3.6ghz on Air thats for sure. Just seems like a waste of money blowing big money on expensive boards when all that FSB isnt going to make much difference?? or does using a higher FSB give improved performance? i.e 9x400 / 8x450.

Got mine a few days ago, not from ocuk though, price elsewhere was better. it's a L629B, threads on xs look promising :)

I should have my 6600 this week (good ole redundancy money came through :D )

I'm not a massive overclocker, but I'd like to hit 3.2 as a minimum.
Also got a DS3 and 2gb of OCZ PC6400 on order, so should be attainable.

I always love the Chrimbo presents that I give myself. :p

i got a L627B from a competitor today which i'm currently testing.

3400 with 1.3v running orthos under air on a 680i board, haven't tried further yet.
