Hello all.

My e6600 is still serving me well! im currently running it at 3.4GHz at 1.5v. my temps r 43.5c idle and 53 full load. Am i ok? cheers

EDIT: CPUID is reporting 1.496v to be exact,

1.5v !

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

That's just a tiny, smidgeon, weenie, minuscule amount more than I would put through an E6600.

Is it under ultramega-watercooling?

I wouldn't put more than 1.45v through it if your worried about killing it - but I've put far more than that* through them with good cooling and never had one die.

Wouldn't have thought you'd need 1.5v to get 3.4gig stable but I guess they are all different.

*One of them was run at 1.65v (3.825gig) w/ watercooling 24x7 for about 2 years - with several hours of flatout useage per day and its still working fine in my media PC now (at 3gig).

Your temps are fine but not sure about your voltage. It does seem a little high for 3.4GHz. I am at 3.2GHz (stable) and my vcore is 1.3875V. But then again different chips overclock differently. Can you not run your cpu stable at 1.45V or even 1.48V?

While people are saying its a lot of voltage, it's fine if your temps are controllable. Lower the voltage if you want, but it's not essential.

Holy Crap! 1.65v? LOL

What stepping is your E6600?

Im using a tuniq tower 120 for cooling.

Ive only just started running at 3.4ghz cos I thought I wanna get the most out of my e6600 before i make the jump to i7 in november so it wont be running on 1.5v long enough before it dies if u no wot i mean?

Another reason y im pushing my e6600 is cos i think its bottlenecking my gtx470.

My stepping aint too great i think its B6.

As for lowering my voltage that aint possible cos i get bsods.
