Hi Guys,
Am going to be ordering an E6600 and a Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard very soon but need to know a few things about the RAM first.
I have a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ atm which is overclocked already at 2.5ghz with 2.2.2.5 timings, so basicly I know a bit bout overclocking and will be looking to doing it to this one.
What I need to know is wut ram is the best for the setup? I have always thought that intel's prefer a higher FSB which would mean they like a higher memory clock than timings but if both was there it would be gd...?
The RAM i was lookin at was the corsair dominators with 4.4.4.12 timings at 800mhz and was thinking about taking them to 1000mhz at the same timings as I thought this would give me the best performance but then i read about the IC's being changed from microns d9 etc etc which put me off a bit but people still seem to be clocking them up this high with the tight timings anyway....
Anywho I then found some RAM with d9 micron chips in but then read somewhere tht running intel's at 1:1 is better than running the ram faster...
Now i am confused!!!
The Team Xtreem & Cellshock have the microns for the gaurnteed 1000mhz clock at low timings but should I be heading for that or for a slower rated speed ram with even tighter timings like the crucial 10h anni RAM? (im a bit wary of the crucial as I have never had gd expericnces with them...must be the cornish air...)
So basicly, should I be looking for a faster mem clock to suit the 1066mhz bus of the e6600 or a slower clock speed so it runs 1:1?
If faster wut ram do u suggest and if slower wut ram u suggest?
Any help would be great!
Cheers, Doug.
