E6600 cooler for 3.0oc

hya all need a cooler as a stop gap before water cooling. Looked around and the tuniq tower looks good but heard its a bit fidly to mount. At the momement i have a mild oc but not happy with temps using stock cooler.

With my current board and new 1066 ram i hope to hit 3gz. Any1 had a problems using this setup?

Something like this would be a nice cheap stop gap.

No point shelling out for something like a tuniq if your only needing a cooler for a short while. Also the arctic freezer as menioned is a good bargain cooler, used one on an E6600 at 3.6ghz with load temps of 59'c.

thanks for reply. Had one on my old 939 4800x2 and wasn't very impressed with it. What chipset did you use?

using one of these myself never seen temps go above 52 when its at 3.3

mines at 3.1 on stock cooler (has been for 2 years now), might be worth a try on air first, just monitor your temps

e 6300 at 3.30 with a tuniq tower idil temps 27 - 24 and load 45-48

I'm sitting at 30-33 idle and 39-42 load on a Sunbeam. On a Freezer 7 Pro I was at 40-42 idle and 55-60 load. That's at 3.2Ghz. both very good coolers.
