E6600 CPU Multiplayer

What is the default multiplayer for this cpu (E6600 2.40GH)


This is because the cpu is running **NOT running at 2.40ghz** from default installation. memory speed is selected at auto detect ruuning at fsb 266 / ddr2 667.

i think the cpu multiplayer is running at x6 aswell.
 
The multiplier is 9x266, disable speedstep to run 2.4 all the time. Presently if you put a load on the cpu it'll run at 2.4Ghz.

thankyou, I will try that tonight. I am running swiftech w/c pro edition therefore should be ok with the extra load.


What are the default idle/load for e6600 cpu **on air** expected.
 
For some reason when I first installed mine, the multi was set to 8x, so had to manually set it in the BIOS as didn't auto select, strangely.

Thought OcUK had sold me a duff chip initially! Then engaged brain...
 
My computer is in a cupboard so it can get warm but with a zalman aero 9700 my idle temps on air are 31 degrees and around 38-41 full load. These temps were taken from TAT so are fairly accurate. I also have the supplied fan controller at its lowest speed so these are its highest temps.
