E6600 - give it a good scrub....

Want to give my E6600 a good clean before reinserting it in my new P5Q-E. Is it ok to wipe both sides? (even the one with little gold cirlces on)?

I have Q-tips and isopropyl alcohol....

No i wouldnt go wiping the bottom of it, just clean the top and remove any old TIM with tolilet roll, thats what i use

yes. make sure to get rid of it all

Clean both sides if they are dirty, just be very careful on the bottom of the cpu though. Gently does it with isopropyl alcohol on the bottom, it should evaporate pretty quickly, but make sure there is no residue left before inserting the cpu back into the pc.

The core of a CPU gets quite a bit hotter than normal household radiators
