E6600 - oc - blue screen HELP

i recieved my intel core 2 duo e6600 2.40ghz this morning and of corse first thing i tryed was oc'ing it. Usually im not an extreme overclocker so i tryed the basics upping fsb by 5 at a time first attempt pc turned off had to clear cmos 3 times before it came back on, so i tryed my luck with asus's ai suite still the same,

any suggestions

You upped the vcore?

RAM set to the correct timings/voltage?

What cooler are you using?
Also might want to check your temps.
Run intel burn test at stock and monitor temps.

thanks i read something simular before it brain overload for me, my bios also has that many features im stuck never had this problem before,

Install and run ITB, high@10 runs and monitor with coretemp. Post back with screenshots.
Want to seee what your temps are like at stock settings.

He's getting blue screens not temp shut downs though.

You Should set your pci express to 100 and check your ram setting when you overclock your cpu

thank you guys very much for links curruntlu upped fsb from 266 - 300 without upping voltage going to re run test see if everything stable
