E6600 only single core seen

new build, clean install winxp. In cpu-z and orthos only 1 core is seen but in TAT both cores are shown!
be grateful for some ideas.
 
under cpu usage history 2 graphs are shown.
cpu-z shows selection grayed out but cores 2 threads 2.

I cant understand why orthos previously automatically detected my opty 165 as 2 cores but not on this E6600.
