I have my system clocked to 9 x 310 = 2790 with 4 gb ocz gold ram @ 1.9 in bios, the temp idle is 38-39 oC with fan at 30%.
Doing a benchy with 3d mark 06 it goes to 49oC.
All the bios is left auto no increase in cpu volts speed step left active to slow it when idle.

It should go a lot further than that. 3.2Ghz is more or less a sure thing with a E6600. Mine did 3.8Ghz. Leaving voltages on auto is not really a good thing as some boards overvolt components.

I overclocked mine up to 3.4 on an 8x multi (Would not do it at x9). The temps are fine, but I set a max temp of 60degrees (Even though it could go higher) and then overclocked it to that. Mines under a Tuniq. You will be able to get more, just take your time, do the volts yourself as its much better, then you can control the temps.

Thanks for the help and advice, as always the members of this forum are simply the best ;)
