managed to overclock my cpu today to 3.15ghz at 40oC load somehow.
I am using corsair 2*2gb 6400c5 DHX not sure what voltages to use to increase my clock speed. When i set it to 2.1volts it shows a red background in the bios, not sure but i think this is a bios settting anyone know if it is safe to increase voltage.

Also i have left the cpu voltage on auto, cpu-zx shows it as 1.3volts.

Using p5w-dh deluxe mobo and air cooled case cpu etc.

any help would be great.

also what test shall i run to ensure its stable. i have just been runnin games for a few hours constant and no problems so far.

You can use 3-4 bits of software for stabiliy, ORTHOS OTTC2 I think it is, is the best as that'll fail pretty quick, Prime95 (quad edition, as it'll fail on one of the cores withint 5-10 minutes usually)... folding at home, but run four instances, or increase the CPU usuage to like 97% say...

Run 3DMark06 as it'll fail on the CPU tests straight away as well if it's too much.

Keep your CPU Voltage as it is, for as far as possible, although past 3.2ghz you may well need to increase... I had to with mine... run CORETEMP to manage your temps, and see how you get on...

I can go 1522 FSB at 9x to give 3.42ghz stable, can run 3.5ghz as well, but not sure it's stable as got a couple of locked screens but trying to decide if that was CPU or GPU... anyway, let us knwo how you get on fella!

Cheers
Pug;)
