I overclocked my new E6600 yesterday to 3.3ghz @ 1.4v. It ran fine all day and the temps seem fine (~30 idle, ~50 under load).

Late last night, the pc just cut out and restarted. Then again when I was asleep it did this. Unfortunatly the monitor was off (and I was asleep) so I couldn't see if it was a bluescreen or anything.

Any idea what would cause this?

Pretty common sign for unstable OC tbh. It happened to mine @ 3.25ghz and my previous X2 @ 2.66Ghz. Either increase the vcore or reduce the clockspeed.

Cheers, thanks for the info. I'll try putting the vcore up a notch.

I'm using the scythe ninja, without the fan. But with the my case there are plenty of other fans next to it.

I'm not sure about your temps they're not too bad and are fairly close to mine.
Yesterday on the other hand I was getting ~75C at 3ghz under load. I had to reapply the AS5. I think I put too much on this time as well...
