Hello All,

I have put together my mates new computer, specs are :

E6600
DS3
6400 HZ
X1800XT.

I check to see what the CPU was running at and noticed the CPU Fan was only running at 986RPM. Is this normal - His temps are 39 - 45.

My X6800 retail heatsink was running at 2769RPM, i wouldnt of thought it would have been a different heatsink fan?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

dont worry about it

download speedfan

and get the true temps.

you might have the fan to slow on idle in the bios .

disable it

The X6800 must have a more powerful fan as my E6600s only goes to 2100rpm so I can't up the speed a bit ;) until I get my other HSF :(

edit: goes to 2700 after all  :p

I managed to get mine at 2700 :) I was playing with the abit fan controller trying to get it to run at max rpm and now managed it successfully to see what it was :)
