Hey guys

Will be doing my new build based around a core2duo, and i was spec'd a E6600, but with the price drops comming and new chips being released is this still the fave chip to go for? or is there a new favourite emerging? Based on the fact I will be overclocking it.
 
Ive read that the quad core is not needed for gaming and therefore the extra cores are a waste. I saw some new e6750 or somthing similar on the price drop list, is this a new model of the e6600?
