Hi , ive had my e6600 for well over a year now and had it clocked to 3.2ghz from day one , its in a gigabyte DS3P mobo cooled by Noctua NH-UF12

the problem srarted earlier this week , the mobo has one of the dual bios setups , so on the odd occasion the pc would fail to boot the seconadary bios would kick in and revert all bios settings back to defaultand the machine would boot now usually id just go back into the bios reset up my overclocks and that would be done

But now when i try to achieve the overclocks they simply wont stick , the dual bios kicks in every time and resets every thing ?

ive cleaned all the cooling fans (3x120mm) and cleaned the dust of the noctua fins but still no joy , now the CPU will run happily at its default 2.4ghz , so dont know what to think

is the CPU on its way out ? mobo maybe ? CPU just needs extra volts suddenly (1.4v atm) ?

any ideas guys ?

Ive just checked and it seems that theres a new version out a couple of weeks ago, i'll update it and see what happens

You might need to bump up the nb voltages. My Q6600 ran happily from almost day 1 at 3.2 but then the same as above would happen, it would revert back, did a bit of reading here and gave both the vCore and NB voltages a bump or 2 and it's been running happily since.

ok well ive updated the bios, rebooted, reapplied overclocks and they are fine at 3.2ghz :)

thanks guys :)

Keep on eye on it though, as I reset my BIOS and redid the overclock but a few days later it reverted back and kept on doing that till I did the above.
