i know someone who has the x6800 and im getting the e6600, simple question really is what gains is there in getting a processor clocked slightly higher when the e6600 can be overclocked to such high levels anyway? dont think id ever consider the x6800 based on its price to offer so little more just wanted to know what others think

the x6800 not really worth it as the 6600 can easily match it speeds even when both are overclocked
the only reason people buy it is becuase they dont overclock or they use the unlocked multi to make overclocking easier

Or because they are rich and can have money to burn. :D

its dell and apparently was given it because his older p4 dual core blew up or so he says. I havent really had an xps to mess about with but i imagine their motherboards are pretty limited when it comes to overclocking

I know, I was just stating the obvious :P Seen some clocks of 4ghz+ on air cooling with a 6800, but its really not worth.
