Guys i cant afford a new cpu atm so i thought i would push my current one a little.

This is on air and from 2.4MHZ ive managed to get it to 3.4MHZ and idling at about 50-60 degrees.

However, im not overly happy with those temps - Speedfan shows the little 'fire' symbol when it measures them which puts me off more than a little.

Is the above temp relatively safe? or is there a good cut off point that i should aim for?

Lol, just doing the above increased my 3Dmark 06 score from 12k - 15.5 k!!

thanks for the advice - the performance gains are actually quite staggering after having clocked it - i cant believe how much better my performance in 3Dmar was - saying that its quite cpu dependant of course.

Oh, well ive reduced it to 3.2MHZ for now and ill leave it at that and game for a bit - im running a chart at the momment on speedfan which i shall refer to once im bored and check what temps it got to.
