Hello everyone.

I have pulled out my CPU and taken note of the date/batch code on it.
Wonder whether anyone can tell me what it means and what i can derive from it.
The info on the CPU reads...
E6700 SL9Z MALAY 2.66GHz/4M/1066/OC
L652 B920

I hope someone can satisfy my curiosity on this :o)

Many thanks!

I know they tell me the week, year and location but I've also read that this has an impact on the chip's ability to overclock which was more what i was after based on the batch i have.

in the time it's taken you to whip the cpu out, clean off the TIM, & post on here you could've started answering your own question the old fashioned way by you know, overclocking it. ;)

Nav your probably best of heading over to xtremesystems.org, there more likely to know about this kind of stuff.

And they may even be nicer too then some of the posts that replied to you.

I know I could have gotten all that information from most of the system information utilities out there but I was in the process of changing motherboards therefore the chip was in my hand.
I have not tried pushing it too hard on an overclock as yet, got to 3.2GHz with FSB adjustment only, without touching any voltages so thought i'd stop for the night and bench it. Originally I had asked about the batch codes as the overall OC is dependent on more than just the CPU, all I was curious after was what the limitation if any the batch my CPU came from carried.

Thanks bifday2 for the alternative forum, I'll check it out!

Any more advice welcome :0)
