Hi there!

I'm in the process of overclocking my E6700 (would love to get it running at 3.5GHz, which may be slightly optimistic, I know.
So far I've turned up the FSB to 300, with a stable 3.00GHz going. Any higher than this however and Vista fails to get to the login screen, it'll boot okay until the progress bar disappears and the orb should show up but at this point the beautiful BSOD appears.
Any ideas on how to get some stability after 3.00GHz? I've not touched any voltages yet, thought I'd seek some advice before creating a plume of smoke :0).

Thanks!

would it be possible to see the cpu details from cpuz?

I'd need to know what the stepping and revision deatails are :)

3.5 shouldn't be a problem. I've seen strange relusts for this cpu going into the 5GHz zone (whether stabble or not is another matter).

You should in theory get a core speed of around 3.55GHz with a multiplier of x10.0 (6-10), a bus speed of 355.0MHz and a FSB of 1420MHz. You would also have to change the voltage to 1.162v

Here's the max settings and stuff from intel

Yep, sure. The CPU-Z read is...

Also, in the BIOS the multiplier is set to 10x but here it only reads 6!

Here's the max settings and stuff from intel?

Yeah, it should be alright to try what I stated above. The revision is slightly different but the stepping is the same so I say give it a go. The only thing you really need to worry about is the voltage input but you can go up to 1.3625v so give it a go and see if that works safely :)

edit: just change your bus speed to 355 and the voltage. lkeave the fsb the same as is now firstly, it should be fine ;)
