E6700 Temperature issue

Hi All,

Just installed a E6700,Stock Heartsink/Fan, Abit IP35-E mobo and the things running at 50deg idle and it goes to 68 degress under load....!!!

I have removed the HSF and applied AS5 but still the temps remain the same?

Any ideas.............

What are you using to monitor the temps?

I am using CoreTemp and the Abit Software, both agree on the same values.

The contact seems ok, after taking off the HSF and visually inspecting the thermal paste footprint.

Maybe the the Abit EQ fan software needs to be revisited in the BIOS..?
