E6750 @ 2.66Ghz?

Speed Steps probably enabled. If you run something CPU intensive (perhaps superpi) and look at that speed it should jump back to 2.66ghz.

Thanks for the reply mate. Ran SuperPi and it still stays @ 2.0Ghz

Did you look at it, while it was actually running the calculation or after? Because thats showing a 6x multiplier which is a classic trate of speedstep. It should be set to 8x.

If its definitely not showing the change to 8x then first off get into bios and Disable EIST and C1E.

If that still doesn't work then it's time to look at the multiplier in bios and change it to 8x if it is set at 6x currently.

Thanks again mate. I was running SuperPi and watching CPU-Z at the same time. I'll check the BIOS and see what it says. Thanks :)
 
Both disabled and made no difference, I changed the multi to 8x and its now reading at 2.6Ghz. Thanks a lot mate :)
