E6750 + P5K Deluxe - Wrong CPU Temp Readings?

Finished building my system yesterday which is based around the P5K deluxe and an E6750. Had to flash the bios to 0404 to get the board to recognise the CPU, apart from that everything is fine.

However the idle temps I am getting seem really low. I'm using an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 and getting the following results:

Seems low to me. Anyone else using this combo?

Had the same problem with a E6850 and a P5B at work.
Updated to the latest bios and getting the same kind of temps your seeing there. Although it seemed to report correctly within the bios.

There must something wrong with the G0 stepping temp sensors or the existing software can't read the correct temps of these new CPUs.

The BIOS will read the socket sensor so it doesn't matter what chip is in there. For some reason TAT and Coretemp read the wrong value for Tjunction for the E6x50 chips.

I realise this is such a noob Q.

I might buy this mobo and cpu. I have never flashed a bios. In my head it seems crazy that you have to flash before the cpu is recognised. Dont you have to have a cpu in to do it???

Sorry!

Yea, just get an old Celeron D.

See now that is a bit annoying. I now have to spend another £25 on a CPU Ill never use just to get the mobo to say hi to the 6750.

Alternatively I get a ASUS Commando and the trusted 6600.

Ever decreasing circles!!

Sometimes it won't POST, sometimes it will POST but just set the cpu to 1066 FSB and you'll have to set it manually, varies with different boards. I know my DS3, Intel Bad Axe 1 975XBX and Asus P5B posted with E6750s with fairly older BIOSes, just ran at 1066 until i set it right, did'nt even bother to flash the BIOS.
