Hi Guys,
I'm currently thinking about investing in small upgrade; upgrading my E6750 (clocked at 3.33ghz) to a Q8400 but have a couple of questions as most of you are probably a lot more knowledgeable in CPUs than myself:
Firstly, is it worth it? I'm not wanting to jump straight to i5/i7 just yet as later in the year ill be purchasing a new dediacated workstation so this a temporary solution. My work mostly involves Web Development, Photo/Video/Flash editing and also working in 3DS Max, gaming isn't a priority whatsoever. The rest of my setup is 4GB 1066 DDR2, ATi 4870 1GB, 1TB WD Caviar Black.
Secondly, my motherboard is gigabyte P35-DS3P rev. 1.0. I've flashed the BIOS to "F12" which is the latest version, am I right in thinking that with the P35 chipset I'd just be able to slot in the Q8400 and go?
Thanks in advance!
