E6750 Vs E6850 Vs Q6600 G0

Ok, new build coming up very soon, which of the above do you guys think is more worth getting?

I mianly use my pc for gaming but also do audio editing and recording along with encoding of dvds. Money not really a problem but don't want to go over £200 for the cpu.

Oh, and will quite likely be paired with some Ballistix 1066DDR2 and Blitz Formula (or very similar board)

Since it's in your price range, there's really only one logical choice, Q6600.

Like the others are saying, anything else than a Q6600 doesn't make sense
And just overclock it really

Without a doubt the Quad as its in your price range. Not that the others are bad chips though.

I was 99% sure i was gonna go for a quad, but didn't want to spend the money if i wasn't going to see much benefit. Thanks guys, you've made my mind up!

I have had both the E6850 and the Q6600, and for encoding (of any file type) the Q6600 is much quicker (when using software that utilizes all cores).
