As title,

I've just been having a look through the site, and can't find the core 2 duo 6800's?

Have they gone for good? :(

Damn,

Arn't the quad's slower than the dual cores?

Not many ( none ? ) applications use all 4 cores? so the 6800 would have been faster than the new quad's?

arg!

If you clocked the quad core to the same speed as the dual core though, would applications run slower because of all the cores.... i mean, no apps or games are going to use all 4 cores surly? lol

Damn, i don't know :( had my heart set on a 6800, the quad cores just seem like, witch craft to me, i dont trust them lol.

I guess,

It's a bit more money though, and it's going to be quite some time before all the cores will get used by apps.

omg they're so expensive  lol

I might try that.

I've got a question about the quad core's. Because there's 4 cores wouldn't that make the CPU a lot hotter? twice as hot as a dual core?

I'd be overclocking the next CPU i buy, and was thinking so many cores would need an extreme cooling kit to keep the temps down?

I think it was actually the X6800 which ocuk sold rather than the E6800.

It does seem to have disappeared from ocuk which is a shame as it is is still the best gaming cpu on the planet and also has an unlocked multiplier.

Damn, i want one more now :( lol
