Hi All

Hmmmm something not quite right there.

My E6600 stock used to score 9950 with a GTX. @3.6 it used to pull 12400. Would have thought you should be somewhere shy of 13k?

What background programmes are you running?
What GPU drivers are you using?

Whats your 3D Mark 06 CPU score?

Ok thanks for the reply, I thought it was low, seems to be a good 3D Mark 06 score at the stock setting but did not seem that fast once I had OC the Cpu to 3.6Ghz,

The Cpu score is below

3DMark Score 11676 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 5101 Marks

SM 3.0 Score 5089 Marks

CPU Score 3172 Marks

Anyone else got any ideas why its so low ??

The problem is 3Dmark sucks and is not reliable. It serves absolutely no use to test your system against a 'real world' environment.

Your system hammers mine from a great height and I'm getting 12,248 which just shows how poor it really is

Spec is:

e6320 @ 3.4
2gb of ram @ 970mhz
Giga DS3
8800gts 640mb (650 / 1000)
Hitachi Deskstar 250gb 7200rpm 8mb cache (windows drive)
Jeantech 700w Modular PSU
X-Fi Fatality

Which clock settings are them scores from?
My E6600 @ 3.6 got 2990 CPU points

You shure you don't have any AA being forced in the control panel ?

My 2900pro @ xt speeds and Q6600 @ 3.3 gets about 12.4k so I'd imagine your GTX should make up for the 2 cores you're missing vs my setup ?

Now I have made a change since I last ran 3D Mark 06, I had SLI-Ready Memory set to "Expert" I have now disabled this, the only change I am making to reach 3.6Ghz is the FSB to 1600

Bios Settings to reach 3.6ghz

AI Tuning - Manual

FSB Memory Config

FSB - Memory Clock Mode - Unlinked
x FSB - Memory Ratio - Auto (Greyed Out)
FSB (QDR), Mhz 1600
Mem (DDR), Mhz 1067

OverVoltage

VCore - Auto
Memory Voltage - 1.2V
1.2HT Voltage - Auto
NB Core - 1.45
SB Core - Auto
Cpu - VTT - Auto

I'm no expert but surely the C2D isn't going to bottlenecking the system anyway so you wouldn't expect massive 3DMark06 score increase from a CPU overclock, would you? I don't know.

However, I would imagine that there's a c. 1,750 score increase from overlcocking your GTX and lowering the quality settings when running 3DMark06.
