Is the E6850 going to turn out like the E6700? The general view on these forums is that the E6700 is a waste of money as the E6600 is cheaper and just as highly clockable. Will the same apply to the E6750 and E6850? Would it be more sensible to buy the E6750 and save over £50?

Possibly.

Tho the extra multiplier may prove to be more important with the 1333mhz chips than it was for the 1066mhz chips.

6750 and 6850 both being around £5 more then the previous chips. the 6750 obviously being a better buy then the 6600. and the 6850 being a lot better then the 6700.

I think the 6850 will still sell a lot, and will do better then the 6700.

ive been looking at the 6750 , seems like a bargin as its the cost of e6600 and pc 8500 ram being very adfordable plus the two previews ive seen (anandtech , firingsquad) have been getting allmost 4ghz OC's at 1.4v+ with just aircooling just think what a P35 Mb and watercooling could do , deffo getting one of thease to replaced my nicked E6450 + Quad-t gt (all good though insruance company has paid up in less than two weeks! :) )

Isn't the E6600 9x multi thou?

I read a review the other day that the increase to FSB(1333) doesn't seem to make any diff at the min.

More so for future quads so thay can 'talk to each other'

It looks like the 1333mhz cpu's are not quite so clockable as the other's so the extra multiplier would be handy. It would appear that the higher fsb removes some of the clocking headroom. 6850's are topping out around 3.8ghz.
