as title says really im building my new system and all i need 2 complete is the cpu do i wait a few days for a price drop or not? are the prices going to come down ?

The price drops were as far as I know the volume price drops.
This is the price retailers buy them in at - and they do like to make some profit.
When has a $266 computer component ever sold at £133 in the UK?

$266 is the price the distributors pay Intel for them.

Overclockers buy them from distribution for usually a couple of % on top.

Fortunately Intel have worldwide pricing so there's none of the usual exchange rate rip offs that we see so often in this country.

UK prices are never a direct comparison of $ to £'s

It is true that $266 ~ £133

BUT

Something that costs $266 in America will cost £133 + 'UK rip-off factor' over here

The current prices ARE the price-drop price. :)

I'm not sure that we're allowed to even discuss competitors prices.

If you're happy with the price that OcUK are offering then just buy from them.

It's always a good idea to shop around, but it's rare that you'd save more than a few pounds between most of the bigger etailors. On some items you can save upwards of £10 depending where you look though.

If you've bought from OcUK before and are happy with how much the item is going to cost you, then I'd just go with that. If you have some spare time, then it shouldn't take you too long to find out some other prices for the item you want, and then compare.

I haven't looked myself, but in your case I'd be surprised if you could save more than a few quid elsewhere.

lol i dnt buy from any one else so i dnt know an other sites :(

OCUK are not always the cheapest (but a lot of the time they are, especially when something you want is on the deal of the week!), but the service is pretty damn good.

I’ll probably get an Intel E6850 and looking around you can always, well almost always, find somebody – somewhere selling whatever you want for a bit cheaper.

I’ve just found one for the E6850, but what can be much more difficult on some of these sites is to find a phone number.
They all tend to have email contact addresses but that isn’t quite the same.

OCUK have contact details including phone contact - Contact Us

That can be worth a lot more than a few pounds reduction in price.

It's not always obvious whether some of these sites are selling 'Grey Imports' which doesn't appeal to me.

The E6750 seems a good choice and being around 50 quid cheaper....but on the other hand if you got the money to waste...well it is your money lol.

When you factor in your complete build, prices tend to balance out. If you are purchasing from multiple retailers then factor in shipping costs, for my particular build (which includes this proc) OcUK are not that far off the mark and I know who I'd prefer to purchase from :)
