I have just started overclocking and so far i have managed to get my e6850 from 3.0 to 3.5 running stable with orthos for 12 hours!! when i tried 3.6 i just keep failing or hanging what is causing this? i have upped voltages on cpu,NB,memory,FSB VTT but stiil cant get it stable.getting to the point i dont want to fry my stuff as i dont know the limits of it!
temps are max 61'c under load for a few minutes at times trying 3.6,are these okay.

NB 1.4 volts-stock 1.3
memory 1.90volts- stock 1.80

I have upped the cpu from 1.3 to 1.5 and still hanging...do you think i should give it more juice?

i have heard in other forums the mb overclocking higher than 3.6ghz and the cpu over 4ghz stable!

well ithought there would be more responce than this!!! to answer zykan there is no cpu pll on my bios any other ideas... i no this setup can go way past 3.6...i just need pointed in the right direction!!!

Have you dropped the multi and upped the FSB to make sure its not a FSB hole/board limitation?

Have you slackened the RAM timings and kept it low to ensure its not a RAM problem?

The N650i and N680i aren't great clockers.

The odd board scales ok but I never got my Abit FP-IN9 (650i) really stable beyond 1500FSB

I have an MSI P6N diamond (680i) also not a great clocker... tops out at a similar 1500ish FSB with a dual... quads... well ouch!

Recently slipped in a B-Grade Asus 750i and that is far better at clocking and I get far better frame rates with SLI that I did with the 650i or the 680i. Running 2 x 8800 GTS 512

Previously I couldn't get anywhere near the expected rates. Now in Crysis ~ 41 @ High 19x12 + 45 @ high 16x10 vs 36@ 16x10 high all with the CPU @ 3Ghz, 3dmark approx 17700 vs ~ 15,000 etc but now I'm bang on where it should be now

I'm not sure you'll get much more out of your board with that CPU. An E5200 may be an option if the BIOS will support it... starting from an 800FSB you can hit 4Ghz ! before your FSB hits 1333
