Hey ,,iam just wondering what possible hike from stock 3 gig could i run this cpu with its standard HT,,,i was actually running it at 3.5 straight out of the box , ran for a while whilst playin BF2 (bout half hour)then the darn thing just shut down and wouldnt start!,,,,i then tried 3.4 and it did the same then 3.2 and it did it again!,,but it will run fine @ stock 3 gig...seems strange really so I`s just wondering could someone please give me some advice re voltages or bios tweaks and is this a common thing with stock heatsinks?,,i just picked this pc up the other day ,,the running gear is,,maximus formula mobo,,xfx gtx 8800,,,2 gig average ram->corsair 6400,,E6850 and the usual compliment of bits and pieces,,thx guys

Hmmm sorry guys the temps were round 32 at idle and whilst playing BF2 i checked AI tweaker now and then and the temps were round 37-39 , didnt actually see them go over 40, and this is why iam thinking it may not be a temp issue?

:o)) iam asking for help!,,not an english lesson,,lol ....i would like some suggestions re tweaking the e6850 in bios from peeps who have a better idea than myself , anyway , ghost where and how do i set the divider to 1:1 ratio cause i did see it in cpu z and its set to 5:6 ,,thx

relax helmut i didnt intend to upset you iam actually in complete agreement withya, its just that iam doing 20 things at once at this end , decided i should ask fior some help and didnt think to hard about it,,,sorry mate

thx helmut. ok what i would like to know is if i could get atleast 3.4-5 oc from the stock HT.. iam not sure what exactly to fiddle with within bios tho i do understand the basics and was hoping someone could suggest that my prob is not necessarily a heat issue and possibly an increase in voltage would help or as ghost suggested the FSB:RAM divider. iam being hopeful as i did not see temps rise above 39 so that is why iam thinking there could be an easier fix..thx
