E74 xbox 360 failure

it can be fixed still with the penny trick on the AV chip which is located under the white tunnel shroud behind the GPU/CPU. Still won't last forever though. YouTube has E74 vids on what you have to do. E74 is right up there with RROD IMHO and should be under the 3yr extended warrenty, can happen to all varients of 369 consoles also.

There was no need to play with it tbh. My nephew had the same error and I told them to send it back and lie that it had 3 reds. I said it was worth a punt, nothing to lose and they fixed it and returned it saying they had also changed the dvd drive and now had an extra years warranty as well on those parts replaced.
 
yep i know, my arcade falcon died of the same thing just over 4 months old, MS replaced the whole unit, the one i got now is actually very quiet compared to all the other 360's that i've had and have gone through my hands
