Can anyone help please?
I just purchased an E8200, fitted it on a Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H M/B, together with 2GB PC6400 OCZ RAM, 250GB SATAII HD, & SATA DVD-RW and 400W PSU.
When I first switch it on, fan spins a couple of times then dies (No POST).
I know the PSU is working coz it came from a working machine as with all the other components except the M/B. This is the second M/B now this has happened to (returned the first thinking it was faulty, but perhaps it wasn't!!)
Can anyone throw some light on this or am I missing something obvious?
Help please?

Tried with one stick - just the same, i'm just going to try some GeIL RAM.
One thing of note for anybody reading this is that I have a 20-24 adapter for the PSU/MB connection. The other thing is now when I disconnect the 12V (4pin) additional power connector it does spin continuously but STILL NO POST.
Just checking different RAM but will be back!!

doea it need a bios update to recognise the 8200 ? Do you have access to an older 775 chip to install & flash the bios ? Only a guess, this might not be it.

Does sound like it may need a bios update.

One of my Abit IP35 boards did the same thing,
lucky I have several C2D CPU's so I was able to use one of those to flash the bios.

Ask a friend who has an older C2D if you can borrow his CPU for 10 mins to check if it boots ok,
if it does you can then flash to the lastest bios which shoula accept the E8*** series.
