Hi,

I built my Dads PC over the weekend and I just wanted to check that the temps I'm getting are ok. I've also applied some Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound and it's running at stock speed:

Idle / normal use - 45/38

Orthos full use - 58/55

Do these sound ok as I've just read some reviews on Overclockers page regarding this chip and people are saying the temps are in the 20's / 30's?

It's the retail cooler. I found the cooler quite difficult to fit as it puts a lot of pressure on the motherboard even when I installed it on a flat surface.

Thanks,

RoEy

What software are you using to read temps, your Thermal Specification: 72.4°C limit. So temps are fine for stock speed, If your not happy with temps a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler would be just the job.

Forgot to say its Core Temp I'm using. The stock cooler will be fine as it's my Dad's PC and he'll never push it as hard as what Orthos does and even if he did it can cope comfortably.

Thanks for responses,

RoEy

Core temp is wrong. Try Realtemp but be sure to read it properly as you have to download a driver as well and install it as a piece of hardware. You have to do some calibration too but it's easy enough and all the info is there.
