I like that. Was it particularly tricky? I'm trying to reduce the temps on my Q6600 a bit, am tempted to lap it.
Also, the Noctua cooler has a ridged finish on it [presumably to allow the thermal paste to fill the gaps or something], hands up who thinks it should be lapped too?

Nice straight reflection lines - shiney is easy - flat means you spent the time well.
Lap a heatpipe - I wouldn't - the pipe wall thickness is under 1mm and it's already be thinned in production...
I think you need to use metal polish to get the real mirror-finish?not a mirrored finish like that
