E8400 clockings probs

ive been steadily overclocking my E8400 and have reached 3.6 on stock volts, but i noticed that as my mb voltage was on auto it has gone up to 1.648v in hw monitor is this too hight, what sort of voltage should be going through it? also i cannot get it to boot at a higher speed even when increasing the vcore.

Any advice?

ok, i put the nb voltage down to 1.31 in bios which gave me 1.34 in hw monitor and its ok like that so is this fine to keep it at? is there anything else i should set manually instead of auto?

so i need to set all of the auto things manually, im not sure i know what they all are supposed to be maybe i should give up overclocking and got back to stock to avoid killing my pc

now my system isnt stable any more, do i need to up the NB voltage to get stability?

i ve sorted the vcore, the NB and Dram voltages now so that its orthos stable, will i still need to change everything else?

looking at the begginers overclcocking thread the only things i need to change are vcore and possibly NB for higher FSBs why so i need to chnge the rest?

ive done it for a couple of hours, but if i get eight, will i need to make any other changes to my settings

my vcore was never at 1.3 its at 1.2 and it was fine until i dropped the NB voltage and my NB is better at 1.4 ish
