Q6600. That way you can get a very good overclock and not have to worry about overclock degradation or any of that rubbish, while at the same time, futureproofing yourself against any SupCom type intensive games that will come out in the future..

I've been wondering the same question. I was planning on getting the e8500 though for the time being as i doubt there will be many games that support quad core properly any time soon.

I wanted to ask people though, has anyone tried the e8500 in a P5W DH Deluxe? That's what I'm currently using with an E6600 and I'm wondering whether the upgrade would be worth it, and also if Vista will be fine with the change.

if u are after new tech with low temperatures and can aford it i would get the q9450 mate. the only thing thats puting me off hat chip is no one has beeen seen to get good overclocks

I was in your shoes 8 weeks ago
Get a E8400 and a good board I use GA-P35-DS3P and let rip
Mine @ 3.6 rock stable and cool... Probs do exist with Quad core and Gaming at the mo
Also I use Vista 64 Home Premium and have No probs whatsoever Its A1 now, Using 8GB OCZ Reaper Ram p6400 @ 800 wITH No Page File and It Flies through everything A1 Using a BFG 8800 GTS OC 512 Amazing....!!!!!!!!!!

I think he meant that they perform slightly slower than the equivalent priced duel core, due to lower clocks. Might be wrong however.
