E8400 Heatspreader shape?

I've had a problem with my core temps reporting two different temperatures about 10degrees apart.

Wondering if it may be something to do with how well my HS is contacting with the heat spreader. Do the E8400's convex/concave/slope?

I wouldn't mind a difference that small, but when it's 10+ degrees, I've got to assume there's a problem!

The hotter core doesn't reach above 50 under load so it's not an emergency to fix, it's just a little annoying

Yeah I'm using real temp and it's sitting at #1 36 and #2 28.

My sensors used to move evenly until this morning, now they're at 3 and 8. But the temps are still reporting the same difference!

e: They seem to be moving more freely now, back to 7 and 7.

There is always a large temp difference, even at load, which makes me think it's something to do with the heat sink not sitting right on the cpu.

I've O/Ced to 3.6 (400*9) at stock voltages. I must admit the gap has closed between the temperatures...
