Hi,

Built my friend a PC today and noticed it was running at 2.8GHz in the BIOS, we had stuff to install etc. so we ignored it for now.

When I got home I got him to run CPUZ and it says it's running at 2.8GHz.

C1E and EIST is off.

Gigabyte P45-UD3 motherboard.

Thanks,
Craig.

Gigabyte boards have a habit of defaulting to the wrong multiplier. I had the same issue with a P35 build and E6600. Just manually change it in the BIOS and reboot.

I thought it'd be something like that, I did notice 8.5x multipler when I was in the BIOS, I see they're rated at 9x

Thanks for confirming it :)

Not only GB, my Asus P5k for some reason does not save the mult to it's "OC Setting save thing", meanign that if I restore one of the two pre-saved OC settings my mult does not change (or changes back to the default 8) :(

My OLD GB though didn't do that (but then again it also fried it's BIOS chip twice).
