My system temps are always 40+ and my cores are around 40-45 im not overally happy with this and feel they should probably be lower!

Anyone have the same setup or know the best way for the tuniq 120 to be seated? At the mo the points on the tuniqs fins are pointing downwards but ive seen pics where people have it sideways on (90degrees to the right) so the fins point toward the rear exhaust fan.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I dont have your setup but I wouldnt have thought the fins/cooler could be rotated any other way given that the heatpipes would be in the way of the clasp mobo mechanism

Depending on your system you could try:
1) cleaning out the dust from the fins if there is any to optimise air flow
2) if you can rotate it then by all means do - would help to have the hot air from the cooler extracted
3) consider changing the fan you have on it to a higher cfm
4) consider buying some dry/wet sandpaper and lapping the base of the heatsink

I have mine point upwards bloweing out the back, ideall you wanty it blowing to the top. Although i cant with my mobo.

My temps are about 38-43 idle which is ok i guess.

ideally you want the fan to be blowing air to the back of the case staight into the exhaust fan, this is because the airflow comes in at the front and out at the back so you get an air tunnel effect.
