*I have just achieved 4.05Ghz on my E8500 (450 x 9) which i think is pretty good for me as this is my first build also my first ever attempt at overclocking. A quick question? When somebody asks me my CPU clock what should i state the reading i get when i right click on my computer which is 4.27Ghz or should i state the one that i get when testing on CPUZ which is 4.05Ghz.

Oh by the way my core temps are around 50 degrees c and i was wondering i'd this was ok if not should i underclock slightly. I was also wonderng what the best air CPU cooler is as I wouldn't mind upgrading so i could push even more out of it. My current cooler is the nvidia zalman cpu cooler.

Is it worth upgrading to a better one or should i stick with this one?

The CPUZ reading should be accurate, the my computer display often gets the speed wrong.

Anyway, nice overclock, have you tested it's stable using Orthos or something similar? Is the 50c idle or full load? If it's full load then that's a good temp, no problems there. If that's your idle temp then you need to find you load temp, you want this under 70c max, ideally <65c. The CPU Cooler you got will be fine, wouldn't bother changing it.

congrats on breaking 4gig :D Need to update your sig now

is 50c idle or load? I'm guessing idle, which really doesnt matter too much - its load temps that count
