E8500 High Temps

Hey guys,

Just installed an E8500 with an Artic Cooling Freezer.

The idle temp reported by Real Temp is 43C, and 48C in Core Temp.

Obviously this concerns me as it seems rather high.

I'm pretty sure the heatsink is seated correctly.

Is it possible the sensors are dodgy? I remember reading something about Wolfdales and dodgy sensors.

Any advice appreciated.

have you clocked it like,as mine is clocked to 4.0ghz and has 1.37 going through it on a artic freezer and temps are 44deg on both at idle using the latest realtemp
